Drumroll Please!

I has winnahs. Many winnahs. This was soooo much fun. Louie was asleep so he couldn’t pick a winner like last time. Last year for Blog Reader Appreciation Week, Motley drew a name out of a Dooney bag. This year, she just picked numbers and I looked to see whose comment was that number. So here are this year’s Blog Reader Appreciation Week winners! Winner of the Goodie Bag is Comment #22 DEBBY! Winner of the Snarkcoaster is Comment #33 KIMMY L! Winners of a book are Comments: # 25 – Del #1 – Maurya #15 – Christina Engels #2 – Trinity #6 – Val Pearson #16...

Ahem

Well, Blog Reader Appreciation week is over. No one sent me their snail mail addy for bookmarks! *gasp* Okay, so I guess that wasn’t the best pressie. Anyway, Motley (Nikki) will be asking Louie Licker for some assistance tonight and they will draw the winners of each item. I’ll post them Tuesday or Wednesday.  I sincerely appreciate all of you who participated! Now, on for some Monday YUM. I joined a new Yahoo group yesterday and they were a lot of fun. But I woke up to find apologies all over the group because someone had been offended. I couldn’t for the life of me figure...

For You!

I had a few whacky ideas for this year’s Blog Reader Appreciation week. None of them really went beyond a crazed notion in my head that elicited a few snicker snorts from me as I worked yesterday. However, I do want you to know that I appreciate you despite the fact that I don’t post as much as I used to. This has been a rough year for me, trying to do the author thing while still juggling all the other things that I do. At one time or another, all my favorite things have gotten shuffled to the side for my writing. I’ve just come to accept that sometimes that is just going to...

I Won?

It seems that I did. I entered a short story in a contest for a cover and it turned in the highest score which makes me the winner. It’s kind of funny really because I had a story for this contest, but my critique partners tore it to pieces. That meant I needed to take the story apart and put it back together again. Fearing that I wouldn’t have that done in time to submit the story for the contest, I wrote a ‘companion’ story. The first story, Runaways, is about a werewolf who meets his mate on a train from Prague to Paris. The werewolf has a twin brother who is the head...

OT+TVC+MM

They’re here! Yes, the first two books in the Tales of the Darkworld series came out last Thursday the 5th. I didn’t blog about it because I have been in OT hell. The day job was ruthless last week and I’m still exhausted. Deadline on top of deadline just wrung every ounce of energy from me. I’m still not done with month end functions and I’m truly crossed eyed with exhaustion.  When the alarm went off this morning at 6 – and I went to bed at an hour that is early for me – I just wanted to roll over and sleep for 4 more hours. I’m currently sitting...

Train Wreck Winners

Thank you to everyone who came to Jester’s show last week when I was on. I very much appreciate the support. Unfortunately, with the room scrolling by and my kid’s messy writing, we’re not sure exactly WHO the winner from the show was. It’s either Catherine or Cissa, and I truthfully do not remember who all was in the chat beyond Marty, Hilly, Dave, Howard, and Karl. That’s because they either called in or we talked about them. Motley has a name written down that starts with a C. To me it looks kinda like Cathy or Catherine, but it could be Cissa. So Catherine and...

My Cherry’s Popped!

Actually, my publishing cherry will be popped tomorrow on Sunday. That’s the day The Wise Guy is released by Noble Romance Publishing. This book is the most recent contract I received, but the book is being released just before the first two books of the Tales of the Darkworld. If you want to read more about the book and all the people who did things to actually help me make this happen you can run over to the Lex Valentine blog and read the post about Release Day. Here, I want to talk about this book and the whole getting published thing in a different way. You see, these books are seeing...

Drinkin’ Sexy

So I finally got someone to draw me a winner in my blogiversary contest. I numbered everyone’s name randomly and asked my friend Lisa Alexander-Griffin to pick a number and she chose… BLUEPAINTRED’s number! WOOT! Now, I know BPR lives for her coffee so I’m gonna send her a Sex Toy coffee mug from the RottNRoll store. Now, BPR… you gotta email me so I can get a mailing addy. Winter at winterheart dot com. You’ll be drinkin’ sexy in no time! So it’s almost 8 pm and I forgot it was Monday and I needed to post Marcus. Since it’s still Monday, this...

Coming Soon

I’m in a rush this morning cause I did not want to get out of bed! UGH! At any rate, here’s the deal, coming this week from me is a post with my Blogiversary winner. You thought I forgot, didn’t you? I did not! But Motley is keeping weird hours and I need her to draw the name. I can’t believe she is playing WoW now. I’m starting to hate that game. Also coming soon is my first book release The Wise Guy on February 22. On February 25, Jester has me in the hot seat, along with any of the other authors I can drag there from the series that The Wise Guy is in. On March...

I Do

So I have some news. Really fun news! Next week, on February 4th, the Jester Show will have some friends of mine as guests. These guests are the authors of the I Do anthology published by MLR Press in support of marriage equality. All of the proceeds of this book go to Lambda Legal to help fight Prop 8 here in California. The author who spearheaded this book is Alex Beecroft who is female and British. The editor (who’s been bugging me to write something for MLR’s ghost anthology) is Kris Jacen and the publisher is Laura Baumbach (whom I’ve heard will remember that I said I could...

Doofus

I’m a total doofus. I missed my blogiversary. What a moron. LOL Everyone who posts the date of my blogiversary in comments will have their name go into a drawing for a Sex Toy item from the RottNRoll Cafepress store. On the writing front, I finished first round edits on both Shifting Winds and Hot Water. I’m still waiting to receive The Wise Guy edits. Meanwhile, I’m writing a 6K story about demons and hellhounds for an anthology. No sex. No romance. It’s just kind of an odd Twilight Zone-ish story. What they call a “dark tale”. I also am committed to writing...

The Scoop

The Scoop is this: I suck at time management. I cannot figure out how to do all the stuff I need to do in the time alloted every day. Somehow I have to figure out how to get myself on track with the writing, the promo loops, the websites, the blogs, the blog reading, the trailers, the sim, the Bar, and just regular reading. I was thinking that things would slow this month and I would get myself in a position to juggle everything better. Then I screwed up… sorta. I sent in a proposal to Noble Romance for a novella for their Child of the Week project. A lot of the authors who had already been...
