I was gonna do a Tuesday tune cause I had a song in my head all day that day. Of course, I was in a groove and wrote 6K so I didn’t have time to come over here and babble and post the song. Then yesterday I was busy posting hotties at Flirty Author Bitches. (They were pretty hot too, male, female, F/F, and M/M.) Today, on a Yahoo group, the wife of a friend posted a link to an article about him in their local paper. Well, to be honest, she’s my friend too, but I don’t talk to her like I talk to him. He and I shoot the shit about the oddest crap… databases and tech stuff…...
I remember Jester talking on Twitter about reconnecting with people from his past on Facebook. I haven’t done much with Facebook but recently, I was talking on a Yahoo group about what inspired my story Silver Lining that will be out in July and I thought of a way to try to reconnect with some people from my past. It worked and I connected with a guy I’d known more than 20 years ago. He was best friends with a guy I’d been seeing. Now, for those of you who don’t know or don’t remember me talking about Silver Lining, what spurred this story was the fact that I’d...
As most of you know, Motley has been playing WoW. She has a guild called Questicles so I made her a forum for it. My new hosting company has auto install of phpbb boards so I had her up and running in less than an hour. She’s been enjoying herself playing both horde and alliance characters. Then early this morning, she and a friend came upon a quest that made her – and me – sad. She had to find Hilary’s Necklace. Just looking at the two little cartoon kids fishing made me sad because I know that my friend is sad. In my head I heard that famous line from Casablanca, “We’ll...
Thank you to everyone who came to Jester’s show last week when I was on. I very much appreciate the support. Unfortunately, with the room scrolling by and my kid’s messy writing, we’re not sure exactly WHO the winner from the show was. It’s either Catherine or Cissa, and I truthfully do not remember who all was in the chat beyond Marty, Hilly, Dave, Howard, and Karl. That’s because they either called in or we talked about them. Motley has a name written down that starts with a C. To me it looks kinda like Cathy or Catherine, but it could be Cissa. So Catherine and...
Last night we lost one of our own. I didn’t know her well, although I knew a lot about her life because of the kind of person she was – open and giving. I did have the privilege of exchanging emails with her over an issue, and found her to be intelligent and full of the kind of grace that most of us can only dream of having. Today, Lisa from Clusterfook walks in God’s Garden… Finally, cancer-free. Stevie Nicks – Gods Garden (Duet Version).mp3 – Stevie Nicks God’s Garden Through the mist I see her face Looking down on me Don’t know the time, don’t...
So I have some news. Really fun news! Next week, on February 4th, the Jester Show will have some friends of mine as guests. These guests are the authors of the I Do anthology published by MLR Press in support of marriage equality. All of the proceeds of this book go to Lambda Legal to help fight Prop 8 here in California. The author who spearheaded this book is Alex Beecroft who is female and British. The editor (who’s been bugging me to write something for MLR’s ghost anthology) is Kris Jacen and the publisher is Laura Baumbach (whom I’ve heard will remember that I said I could...
Edits for Shifting Winds are about done. My editor sent the manuscript to me, I made changes, was really happy with how it came out, and sent it back to her. Now, it’s a waiting game. Will she like the changes? Will she want more? Will she send it back to me for more fixing? One of the things I fixed was a line the heroine thinks while she’s trying to free the hero’s dick from his jeans… she was mentally praising whoever invented the button fly. I have to admit that I love a pair of button fly jeans on a man. Sure, it makes for easy access, but almost better than that, most...
You know that saying about how it takes a village? I’ve always assumed that since the sentence was never finished that it assumes it takes a village to do anything well… big. Last night I decided to make a video instead of making a recording of me and Nikki singing the Coventry Carol. It’s not that we can’t sing… we can, and we do it pretty well. It’s just that we were imbibing last night and I just couldn’t string the stanzas together properly. Go figure. So I’m making this video and I’m thinking about all the books I have coming out in 2009...
Do you remember the Christmas story called the Gift of the Magi? It’s a Christmas story with a twist, but a heartwarming one. It’s always been my favorite Christmas story. I suppose when I set out to write a Christmas story for my publisher that it must have been at the back of my head. What I produced was hot and sexy, but by the end it’s obvious that it’s a Gift of the Magi type of tale. The reason I’m telling you this today is because if you visit my publisher Pink Petal Books and click on the link for the bookstore, you will find my Christmas ebook. You can also...
Yes, I do appreciate all of you. Sometimes I get wrapped up in things and forget to say it or show it, but I FEEL it. Yesterday, at the horse racing sim, we were informed that one of our friends had died earlier this month from brain cancer. We hadn’t heard from him in awhile because of his illness and his nephew who gave us updates, took his death hard and didn’t let us know right away. John Chapman, Nawbo or Naws to the sim gang, was an amazing friend who was my partner in the Stupor Stable. I miss him, but I know that he lives on in the memories – little pieces of him –...
I promised my straight male readers some heat today, didn’t I? I guess that means I can’t really toss a Marcus in there. Hee hee. That’s okay. I have lots of him on my hard drive. Before I toss out some hotties this Wednesday, I have a tiny little story to tell. Awhile back, when I first was introduced to Jester here online, he made a joke to me in IM about being the token gay on some blog rolls. I joked back that he wouldn’t be the token gay on my blog roll because that role was already taken. It wasn’t a joke though. There really was a gay on my blog roll before...
I am not here today. I am over at Snackie’s World trying to figure out if I can eat the cupcakes on her tree. Hmmn. That sounds like a euphemism for something sexual, doesn’t it? You should totally head over to Hilly’s and see if it is a euphemism! After all, I do kinda have a rep for writing naughty things so you never know what I might have in store for… Have a great Sunday! »View More
