Too Much Christmas?

I might have had too much Christmas. Okay, that’s not exactly true since we didn’t have a tree or decorations or presents or even dinner really. But I’ve had too much of something since today I was exhausted and totally forgot it was Monday. I can’t miss a Marcus Monday! What was I thinking? Honestly, I wasn’t thinking. My head’s been buried in writing, something it’s not really been buried in for about a year. But I have a lot of plans because lately, I’ve been uh…planning. LOL Thinking about my writing career and my publishers and the stuff...

Peppermint

So I found this air freshener by Glade that smells like peppermint candy. OMG. I have to spray it every few minutes! There is nothing better than the scent of things like peppermint, cinnamon and chocolate. This time of year all the cool scents come out. I’m seriously addicted. I want to take the damn can to work and spritz it to rid myself of all the perfume the women in my office wear. As an asthmatic, I wish it was a perfume free zone (I’ve actually seen some of these) but I know it won’t ever happen. So my peppermint candy air freshener would be really welcome! It’s...

Today’s post is a plethora of advertisements for the stuff I’m doing or did. I mean, c’mon, it’s Cyber Monday, which to an old internet hound like myself who’s been out here on the net since the early 90′s, doesn’t really conjure up thoughts of sales but of ahem, sex. Still, Cyber Monday is indeed a day of sales so I have a bunch of ads for you! First off, my 30 Days of Christmas giveaway event is in full swing. We’ve already given away ebooks and paperback books and today, I have a really special treat for readers. Today is the release day for NightShift,...

Whole Lotta Workin’

I’ve got a whole lotta working going on. This week is shaping up to be a very busy one and that doesn’t even take into account the holiday. I’ve got a cover to do for a fellow OCC RWA member, some book trailers to knock out, and I need to finish my Christmas story Cupid Christmas. Add to that the fact that the Lords of Aether is shifting into a higher gear as we close in on our mid-December launch. I went to lunch with ZAM yesterday and we brainstormed and the upshot is that she’s joining the Lords of Aether with a character I’m really excited about. He’s a hooker....

Forgotten Monday

How the HELL did I forget last Monday? Must be the damn cold meds. Actually, the cold is gone. However, asthmatic that I am, the cough lingers. I’m dreading taking myself in to the doctor. I have enough stress without them telling me I have bronchitis or pneumonia. Although, I’m fairly certain I don’t have pneumonia. I’m not tired enough for that. I guess forgetting last Monday isn’t nearly as bad as what I did in my latest manuscript. I got the galleys back yesterday and as I’m reading through them I discover a HUGE GLARING MISTAKE. Something I screwed up big...

Rows of Crosses

I’ve been to Arlington National Cemetery. I’ve seen the Eternal Flame. I’ve seen the row upon row of crosses as they march across the grass. And I know that they represent a person who either served our country or died serving our country. For those of you who don’t know what the difference is, Veteran’s Day in the fall is in honor of every person who served our country in the military. Memorial Day honors those who lost their lives serving our country.  Memorial Day is for those crosses. Every Memorial Day this poem reminds of those who lost their lives. It’s...

Mad Rush

It’s a mad rush week for me. Lots to do at the office if I want to take off Christmas Eve. I need to do four days work in about two and a half days. Gonna be pushing myself hard and getting really tired. But come Christmas Eve morning, when I get up at my usual time after all, but get to sit at my desk in my pajamas, drinking coffee and licking whipped cream… it will be worth it. I might even have to do a little work at home that morning to finish up, but it will still be worth it. Ahhh. Nothing like working in your jammies. I’m off to the post office today at lunch so some...

Ave

It’s a Tuesday Tune for the holidays. I love Soundgarden so this has been one of my fave Christmas songs ever since I first heard it. Last night was a special Jester Show featuring Dave2 of Blogography. They talked about a lot of interesting stuff from iPhone apps and politics to touching up supermodels and cruise ships.  Iron-Fist (Vahid) called in as did Snackiepoo (Hilly) and me. My very short convo with them at the end of the show was about Throbbing Vampire Cock, my favorite Davetoon of all time. If you didn’t get a chance to listen in to the show live, check out the podcast...

Rain Game

Today, I get to play the Rain Game.  Yes, the rain has finally hit SoCal. And I have a shredded wiper blade and bent wiper arm. So Rott gets to take me to work in the SUV, put the Intrepid in the garage, and change the blades.  Or he can just take me to work every day that it rains. Makes no difference to me. The SUV is a lot nicer than the Dodge that’s for sure. Strangely enough, Rott does like the Dodge. He swears it saved his life once cause it has so much power. Men are sometimes easily pleased. I’ve had several things I’ve been working on this past weekend. I completed...

Encore

I post this every year, but it still makes me tear up. At work, our company motto is that we serve from our hearts. For those in the military, I believe they serve with much more than that. As the daughter of a veteran from a war zone, my heartfelt thanks to all who serve my country. In Flanders Fields By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918) Canadian Army In Flanders Fields the poppies blow Between the crosses row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw...
