You know how I love vampires. TVC is forever in my heart as some of my favorite fiction of all time. (Not to mention how much I adore Dave2′s cartoon TVC.) I not only write it while wearing my author persona Lex Valentine, but I read it. Voraciously. I don’t have a post for you today. I’m kinda upset. Someone close to me hurt my feelings very, very badly and I just need a moment to pull myself back together. Short post this morning. I awoke with a gasp at 5:30 am realizing that I forgot I have to take Motley to school this morning and didn’t set the alarm for 5 am. We switched over to a new server on Saturday and I spent some time dealing with a few things over the weekend related to that. The big test is this morning when the full staff walks in and has to use it. So I need to hightail my ass into the office ASAP! Sometimes I don’t mind earworms. I usually have one when I’m working on a manuscript (the current manuscript, Sunstroked, has a Godsmack earworm, Love-Hate-Sex-Pain) and I often get them at work when I’m concentrating. I also wake up with them. I’m not sure how that works. My unconscious just produces a song and leaves it stuck in my head. The ones I wake up with are the hardest to get rid of. It’s official. I am now an award winning author! Ride the Lightning placed 3rd in the erotica category of the 2010 Lories Contest put on by the From the Heart Romance Writers chapter of the Romance Writer’s of America. This past week has been a rough one. Friends are having trouble with all sorts of bad things. I have my share of stuff too and stress over them is really bogging me down. Despite where I work and what I write, mortality isn’t something I think about every day. At least not in a conscious, personal way. No rest for the wicked seems fairly true to me this morning. It’s 7 am and I just feel drained. I finished up a trailer I’ve owed author Renee Wildes forever. I’ve so not been in that sort of creative mode and I was deathly afraid of trying to force myself to make one when I wasn’t in that headspace. Strangely, it came out fine. So I was tired of the Lex Valentine website. I put up a temporary one for release day this past Friday. If you have a new book out you often get lots of hits on your website.
