Goulash

This is a goulash post today, a little bit of everything.  My brain is a little too fried to actually come up with a topic to discuss or yak about so I figured I’d just let it wander from topic to topic as I ramble on. Memes Okay, so I got tagged for this Bald Face Liar game. Originally, when I first saw this meme on a few blogs, I laughed because a couple of the authors who were playing really are bald faced liars so I found it rather ironic. I never did do memes well and I prefer the truth even with regard to games so I doubt I’ll play.  My friend Lisa is playing though, so if you...

Favoritism

We all have things we’re partial to.  Restaurants and food. Authors and books. Clothes and colors. The list can go on and on. Last night I asked my Yahoo group to tell me which of the sex scenes (or love scenes if you prefer) that I’ve written were the hottest and why.  Just a little informal poll. I want to see what they say and I have a reason for doing so. This week I started dismantling The Bar. The writers are all busy with other things in their lives and a couple of them went in and removed their posts because they have copyright concerns. When it became obvious that rather...

The Thing About Love

Later this week, on the 7th, I’ll be over at Cindy Jacks’s blog talking about love.  It’s February, so people tend to wanna talk about those tender emotions.  I write about them all the time because my books and stories always have a happy ending.  I’m the kind of person who has to have a HEA (happily ever after.) Or some sort of happy ending at any rate. I don’t want to read about the angst without having it all work itself out, handing the hero and heroine a reward. In real life, things don’t always work out that way. In my life, the angst has always outweighed...

Bittersweet Symphony

‘Cause it’s a bittersweet symphony, this life Trying to make ends meet You’re a slave to money then you die I’ll take you down the only road I’ve ever been down You know the one that takes you to the places Where all the veins meet yeah I love that song by the Verve. They were kind of a one hit wonder with it, don’t you think? The lyrics are pretty true though for someone like me who lives paycheck to paycheck and is ever at the mercy of a landlord. I have a week’s reprieve. We’ll see how things go next weekend. Meanwhile, the lyrics still hold true....

Tropical Monday

Is it Fall yet? Where’s the fog? The clouds? The temps in the 60s? Can you tell what my problem is? Yup. It’s my utility bills. An A/C unit that doesn’t work very well and sits at floor level in my DINING ROOM, plus fans equals a utility bill of $225. Usually the bill’s about $50, or at the very least under $100. This is just insane. On top of that, my gas bill is double too. I think the rates have jacked up, but you know they do that shit and never tell you cept in some tiny ass print some place I’d never find. If I had known the bills would be double and triple...

I’d Fuck You

Pssst! They’re back. My characters from the Bar. They like coming here and hanging out sometimes when I’m busy. And lately, I’ve been busy writing at the Bar. Last time out, Carlisle and Lex guest posted for me. This time it’s Weylyn. Try not to drool too much. *wink* BTW – “were” is not were… it’s WEAR. Short for werewolf. Woah! This is much different than I’m used to. I mean, I play bass in a band. Usually, I’m up all night sleep all day. Or in my case, fuck all day. I’m just your average every day were-horn dog. If it has...

Is Annoyed a Color?

Before you read this, you might want to read Jester, Britt, and my post from yesterday including the comments. What’s written below pertains to all of these posts. After yesterday’s soul baring post about my writing and self esteem, I have something that seems, on the surface, to go along with it nicely. I took this damned color test thingy because Jester did. I wondered if the color thing explained why Jester had been annoyed recently. Maybe it explains why I’ve been so moody lately. That would certainly be the answer for someone who believes in karma and fate and all that stuff....

Floating My Boat

It felt like a long weekend. Probably because I spent so much of it writing. Next weekend will be a true long weekend since I spent some of my much horded vacation hours and took Friday and Monday off. I wasn’t sure if I would need recovery time since it’s Dave Diego next weekend. When it comes to bloggers, I’ve only met Hilly and Karl thus far, so Motley and I are truly excited about this event. Not that Hilly and Karl aren’t the pinnacle of bloggers, but you know what I mean. I went to Blog Talk Radio yesterday to set a reminder for Turnbaby’s anniversary show,...

Can Vampires Be Gay?

The following is an outtake from The Bar. It’s posted in what we call the “Out of Context Forum” because it’s not part of the regular story, but does use the characters from the story. This post is dedicated to Miss Britt, whose own story was an inspiration to Lex. Lex walked into the living room to find her eldest son staring at CNN. For a moment, she wondered when he had become like his godfather Stein. Then she realized he was frowning. Aric never frowned. Well, except for when he was pretending to be his Uncle Lucius. Usually, Aric was a very content little boy, if slightly...

Sun Songs

When I write I sometimes have to have mood music. At the Bar, we often punctuate posts with a song that the writer feels conveys or enhances the mood of the post. Since it’s such a sunny, happy day and I’m such a dark and depressed person, (it’s not just me, I swear! Neko is moping too because Motley is gone) I’m going to give you some of the songs from the Bar that convey happy moments either already posted or yet to come. They are what I call my Sun Songs. You can put them on, put the top down, and drive fast in the sun… 1. Count On My Love – Liz Phair This...

Freedom

I can’t remember the last time I was alone for an indefinite period of time. I mean, Motley’s always been here (excepting camp, trips, Rawhide Ranch, that sort of thing) for 19 years. And Rott’s been here (excepting a night or two at his pal Curt’s and 3 months while he waited to get a Prop 9 I think it’s called) for almost 10 years. Now, I’m not sure when Motley’s coming home. I know she will, just not when. And Rott, well he won’t be home for awhile. I’m really freaking alone. It feels… weird. Since I’m alone this weekend, I might...

Sunday Sex

The Tiara pics from the famous graves will have to wait a day or two. We decided we didn’t want to take the pics with my cell phone, but rather, with Motley’s Nikon Coolpix. In lieu of those pics, I decided to give you some sex from the Bar. Who couldn’t use a little sex on a Sunday, right? This is actually an outtake. It was an alternate ending to Sterling’s death. However, after I wrote it, ShinyBitch decided she didn’t want to mate Mace to Sterling so I went with another ending that totally changed the direction of the Bar storylines. Had we used the ending I’m...
