Lush

Lately, I’ve not been able to produce too many words on my WIPs (work in progress.) Just too tired. Life at home and at work has just been frenetic. And I’m on my annual sabbatical from the horse racing sim too! I typically don’t race in December and January.  So you’d think I have a little more time than usual, but oh no. It is true that I’ve been watching some TV. Hard to resist concerts in high def and Rott is loving the Palladia channel.  The Foo Fighters concert at Wembley was amazing in high def. I was totally enchanted and spending time watching the new TV...

Resurrection of the Dead

Yesterday, I put Socially Dead back up. Motley wants to blog again but she wanted a less teenager-y template than Skully. Although she liked Skully, she was tired of the pale blue and pink.  So Motley’s back (hasn’t posted yet though) with a new template (Cold Stone, same as I use at Lex Valentine) but those of you who used to visit her will recognize Skully at once. There’s still some updating of info we need to do (I need to fix my CafePress stuff) but it’s all small stuff at this point. The blog has now been resurrected and hopefully it will have more of a life than...

Wooty Woot!

Sometimes I hate the internet. Traffic makes your site bursty and poofta! Your post is gone! Luckily, this time WordPress had it saved. Last time, I wasn’t so lucky. Anyway, oh, have I got some news for you today! On Tuesday night I got a congratulatory email from the EPIC Awards committee. Both Ride the Lightning and Insolence were chosen as finalists in the EPIC Awards. This is both an honor and a shock! I seriously didn’t think I stood any chance of finaling. After all, the most popular book I wrote (Fire Season) with it’s 12+ stellar reviews, with it’s sales that made...

Wandering Minds

This morning I have a bit of a wandering mind. I can’t really focus but then again, it’s not even 6 am yet. Excuses aside, I suppose the wandering is in part because there’s lots of stuff going on in my world and not because Zombies Ate My Brains. (I love that t-shirt! Go buy one from Dave2! It’s perfect for Halloween.) I don’t know what it is about the end of the year that sends me into a frenzy when it comes to writing. Perhaps it’s because I got my first contract in October, on the 30th, the day before my birthday. I have so many projects I’m working...

Rock N Mock

Before I show you a Jimmy on this lovely Thursday before a four day weekend for me…I have news! I have a release date for my Ellora’s Cave book Rock My World. If you like, you can click the linky and go see it’s page. It feels pretty freaking odd to see my pen name up on that site. And if you can’t tell…I’m decidedly nervous about my debut there. I’m worried about doing well. I’m having…performance anxiety! Well, before I chew my nails to nubs, let me get you a glorious Jimmy. This cover is a mockup. See the watermarks? I haven’t had time...

Round Two

I received my round two edits on Rock My World so I thought I’d post the song I heard over and over in my head as I wrote this novella.  This Tuesday Tune is for Sin and Gia, the main characters in my book. Love me some Sick Puppies! Have an awesome Tuesday!  »View More

Cowgirls Need Jimmy Too

Yes, moron that I am, I forgot to post last week on Thursday. Blame it on my deadline. But my editor LOVES the heroes of Afterburner so I think I may have redeemed myself. This week I have a brand new Jimmy Thomas cover for you. It’s for my next Christmas Cowboys short story. Those of you who know my work know that this series started with Elle and Riley in Christmas Hookup who meet in a parking lot at a holiday class reunion.  It’s not Elle’s class, she’s a couple years older, but she’d been dragged there by her childhood friend Anne-Marie who had heard that her...

Hot Off the Press

You know it’s gonna be a crappy week when the temperature for Monday hits 107. That was last Monday. And my co-worker  was sick. She was sick for a couple of days poor thing. But it was a commissions and month end week for us in accounting and I spent two days alone powering on in the horrid 100+ degree heat getting stuff done. On not much sleep cause you see, I have no AC at home. Oh yeah. Talk about hot off the press. Oy. But despite the heat and my pal Jojor’s illness, I got it all done ON TIME. Yes. On time. Man, I felt like a superstar. More month end duties today but if I can...

Now What?

Over the weekend I wrote a total of 5500 words. My WIP Afterburner is now at 14,300 words. Less than 6K to finish. Due date is 9/30. I’m thinking I can pull that off… I probably would be done already but I keep finding myself doing research. Yesterday, it was on ejection seats for the F-35. Somehow I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into when I created this plot! LOL I also made a couple of covers for Pink Petal Books. One for Jaime Samms and one for the Tales series. I did the cover for the first book in Jaime’s Ageless series and this is the sequel. With Tales...

Like the Wind

I’ve been writing like the wind. I’m at 7500 words of a 20K story due September 30. (And my editor may be looking at this with greedy eyes. Yes, Kris. It’s getting closer to completion!) I’ve got another deadline right behind that one. Both of these stories have been on the back burner for my editors for awhile now. I love it that I can finally get them done. Then it’s on to other things that have been back burnered! LOL I do have new stuff cooking too. My brain is always percolating ideas. I’m eager to get into my edits for Rock My World because I know that...

Who Dares

I suppose I don’t talk about my emotions enough here. I just sort of skate along the surface of things. Mostly, I don’t feel that there’s all that much happening in my emotional life that I could fill a blog post. My life doesn’t vary all that much. Work, struggle, struggle, work. And write. Occasionally fight with Rott or Nikki. If I had to dig deep and pull out a bunch of emotions I suppose I could, but I just don’t feel the need to. I spend too much time putting them away so I can get stuff done. When I do take them out and think about them, nothing changes so I...

Burn Zone

I spent the weekend writing my fingers to a nub.  The next installment of the Tales of the Darkworld is due to my editor on the 31st. I’m hopeful I’ll make the deadline since I’m on the downslope now and only a few scenes left to write. Unfortunately, this one isn’t as long as the last few and won’t be eligible for print unless bundled with another of the books. Which is doable. The seventh book might not make it to print length either so maybe they could go together. Anywho, because I was so rushed and in a hurry to get back to my manuscript, I decided to make tacos...
