Yay Marty!

I love this guy. He is always there with a kind word. He’s the most supportive of friends. He’s smart and funny and makes you wish he wasn’t married. *wink* Now, he has something happening that he’s always longed for… to be a published fiction author. Marty’s first fiction release is due out January 26! Last year, I inherited at project at Wild Child Publishing.  An editor left and the project fell to me in terms of finding authors and stories for it.  I wasn’t quite sure how to go about that. After all, I don’t usually hang with authors who write...

The Numbers

I’m late, I know. I promised New Year’s Eve and it’s New Year’s morning. Still, I do have something for you to show you that my life is not all bloggy goodness. It’s a bunch of numbers. The numbers represent what I did as an author in the last year. They are an interesting lot these numbers. They are the reason I often don’t blog more than once a week. They are the reason I sometimes have more money in my pocket. They are the reason I’m actually kinda sorta managing to send Motley (Nikki) to art college. I’m going to post the link to a blog post that...

Christmas Card?

I made one. Yes, indeedy. Took last year’s and changed it. The credits at the end are a list of what I am thankful for this year. Make sure you watch it all. Now, didn’t I promise you some feminine hotness? So here’s sorta how I see my three Tales heroines. Shifting Winds heroine: Elysia Granville, actress Naomi Watts Hot Water heroine: Eden Antaeus, actress Sofia Vergara Ride the Lightning heroine: Emily Carrington, actress Natasha Henstridge And there  you have it! A look at sorta how the heroes and heroines of the Tales series appear to me. None of the photos do justice...

Blink Blink

I was left blinking in a bit of shock at the annual company Christmas party on Saturday night. No, it’s not about who showed up with whom, although there was a bit of that kinda shock rippling through the room.  I got into a little discussion with my friend Liz (the one I jokingly call the “Evil” HR Manager after Catbert) and one of the VPs. A female VP. Who is reading Tales of the Darkworld Volume One. I’ll admit to having a little case of the jitters over her reading my book. After all, the vampires own a cemetery! She’s one of my bosses. I kinda worried whether...

Litany of Hos

Today I have a litany of hos for you. Hos as in the plural of ho ho ho. Hos. It looks better with an apostrophe, but fuck me if that isn’t incorrect grammar. My litany starts like this: I need to write three Christmas short stories, but I hate all the Christmas crap that goes up as soon as Halloween hits. You’re wondering how does the one affect the other. In a word, inspiration. I wasn’t feeling the Christmas spirit this past weekend and the stories suffered. I decided I needed to make the covers in order to start things gelling in my head better. I have the plots. I know how...

Whew!

I’m done. With Ride the Lightning. Sent it off to my publisher last night. Yeah, there’s edits to be done (I used the phrase “like X spilling through a window” three effing times! You’d think I would have a better grasp of the English language, wouldn’t ya?), but I’m a good girl and spin through the edits pretty quickly. RTL will be out December 3. With RTL Dave2 makes his literary debut, following in the footsteps of Karl (Karl with a K), Gooster (Corey Green), Marty (the Fairy Godfather), and Vahid who is the star of RTL. In this book, Dave2 is David...

The M’s Have It

Thank you to everyone who came by here to comment and wish me a happy birthday, who left it on my wall at Facebook, emailed me, twatted me, texted me, wrote blog posts and Yahoo group posts about me, etc. Your wishes made my workday (my deadline yanno) go much smoother. No, I’m not done yet, but I’ve done a self-edit on Parts One and Two and fixed some continuity issues that were plaguing the story. One hundred and ten pages are as cleaned up as I’m going to get them for now. Now, I’m on the last bit.  Part Three is a wrap up. Get through all their issues and give them...

Plans Within Plans

Yanno how things never end up as you planned? Yeah, well, the Ride the Lightning video I made falls right into that category. No Alice in Chains music after all. I ended up with a brand new Breaking Benjamin song. The funny thing is I still couldn’t make up my mind on the song even after I’d firmly decided on the band. So Nikki and I listened to three different tunes. Every time I heard one I’d think, “THAT’s the one!” Then I narrowed it down to two songs. I was pretty sure I wanted Without You but then I listened to Dear Agony again. But Nikki was sure. Without...

Out of Pocket

Yep. I’m out of pocket today. Not at work. Instead, I’m home immersed in Ride the Lightning. Of course, the video for this story has been on my mind continuously for weeks. While I can use the title Ride the Lightning, I cannot use the music. (Although, Rott is of the opinion that I should and post it someplace that doesn’t police the music like You Tube does… just so Lars can be all pissy and sue us and so Rott can meet Lars and James. LOL) At first, I wanted to use a song by Cavo from the Transformers soundtrack. But no, they are Warner artists. Then I thought about a...

Top Three

So the heat in SoCal is killing me. I’ve had a non-stop headache for days as the oppressive heat and lack of central air just fuck with my body royally. It’s really gotten to the point where it’s painful and I just wanna lay in the bathtub and sob. Weather.com says it will start cooling today. Thus far, it doesn’t feel like it. It’s 7 am and it feels like all the other days in this heat wave. And my head is already pounding. Moving on to a more pleasant topic, Fire Season hit #3 on All Romance eBooks top ten list of bestsellers. I’m shocked and flattered....

Bullet Rider

So I have this guest blog post at a review site today. It’s title is Six With a Bullet. The reason for the title is that Fire Season is now #6 on All Romance eBook’s Top Ten List. This sort of equates to being the #6 most sold book at Barnes and Noble. ARe is one of the biggest distributors (e-bookstores) on the internet. Because of riding this bullet up the bottom half of the top ten, I’ve been invited to be on ARe’s Blog Talk Radio show What’s Hot in Romance. It’s been awhile since I did any radio, but I’m sure I’ll remember how it works. I’ll...

Who’s a Ho?

I am a pimping ho at Midnight Moon Cafe today. Not only did I pimp myself out… I pimped out Karl, Marty, Gooster, Vahid, Hilly and Becky. All for the sake of selling books about TVC (throbbing vampire cock) and SDC (swelling dragon cock). Well, I have to admit it’s not so much the selling thing that I like, it’s the fans of the stories. I like it that people like and read what I write. I don’t get scads of traffic here, but with the books, my writing gets exposed in a lot more places. I like giving people stories they enjoy. I love it when they adore the same characters...
